A letter from our director
Thank you for your interest in Elizabeth Anne’s Haven.

The vision for our sanctuary home grew out of years of work in the anti-human trafficking field. In 2014, I founded Bringing Our Valley HOPE, an organization dedicated to human trafficking awareness and prevention in our community.

At the time, I was deeply concerned by how little awareness existed—especially in a small, trusting community where both parents and children were largely unfamiliar with the tactics traffickers use to exploit vulnerability.
I felt a responsibility to help make our community safer through education and prevention.

Over the years, alongside a dedicated group of volunteers, we have worked to educate ourselves and others. We’ve partnered with schools, law enforcement, social service agencies, and healthcare providers to raise awareness and strengthen prevention efforts.

Through this work, one reality became clear: there is a critical and unmet need for safe, supportive housing for survivors of human trafficking.

When a survivor escapes, she often does so with nothing—no home, no income, and sometimes no safe relationships to return to. Without support, this lack of stability leaves her vulnerable and at risk of being trafficked again.
I knew we had to do more.

With the support of a committed board of directors and an incredible network of volunteers, that vision has become a reality. Elizabeth Anne’s Haven now offers a safe home in Chaffee County, Colorado, serving up to six adult female survivors of human trafficking. Residents are welcomed into a secure, nurturing environment where they can stay for up to two years, free of charge, while receiving the resources, care, and support they need to heal, rebuild, and pursue their individual goals.

This work is rooted in a simple belief: when we have the ability to help, we should. Together, we can offer survivors not just safety, but the opportunity to reclaim their lives.

With gratitude,
Beth Ritchie
